The mice would chew through everything, effectively making the city un-inhabitable.

It's winter, and even in summer it'd be hard to catch that many mosquitoes most of the time. I'll probably just starve to death in short order with this option.

@SmokinPuss Leaving the city is a valid option. However moving cities has costs in money and opportunity and its harder for some than others: considering family ties and things that you or your family is a part of. If you are in a time of life when moving cities would be easy then this option is much less concerning.
